We are SO excited about our upcoming Spring Showcase Concert, one of the main events for the Cochrane Music Society! The concert is a Multicultural Music Event with a focus on Reconciliation and building bridges with all cultures.
Our special guests, Knowledge Keeper Kyle Snow and Gina Onespot, will perform with Band on the Bow, merging their own songs and drumming with two classically composed pieces – “Cardinal Elements” and “Mother Earth – Spring”. The concert band will also perform Latin American and Chinese-composed pieces.
Choral Waves choir will also be joined by Kyle Snow and Gina Onespot in their Indigenous songs. The choir will round out their music with Ukrainian and Czech tunes.
Of course, the Riverside Jazz band music is a culture of its own!
The new Indigenous Centre, Wazin Îchinabi Ti, will raise their tipi on the grass outside Bow Valley High School in tribute to this reconciliation effort. Thanks also to Cochrane Foundation and Treasures For Your Home Society for their generous support!
