Cochrane Alberta Culture Days Festival 2014 – September 26th, 27th & 28th
at Historic Downtown Cochrane
As part of Alberta Culture Days 2014, the Town of Cochrane will be celebrating the wealth of talent and creativity that exists within our community with the Cochrane Alberta Culture Days Festival 2014 presented by the Arts & Culture Foundation Cochrane.
On August 11, 2014 the Mayor of Cochrane, Ivan Brooker proclaimed the weekend of September 26th, 27th and 28th to be the 5th Annual Cochrane Alberta Culture Days Festival. We, the Arts & Culture Foundation, invite you to a join us for this celebration. This is a family event showcasing the unique culture of Cochrane, and we have joined with a number of partners to bring the arts & culture to the forefront.
Date: Friday Sept 26th
Time: Kick-off at 4:00 pm
At 4:00pm at Centennial Square we will kick-off the event with a declaration by Mayor Ivan Brooker, and line dancing and cake for the attendees.
Date: Saturday Sept 27th
Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
At 10:00am we have partnered with the Heavenly Outhouse to bring you the Annual Outhouse Races down Main Street Cochrane.
From 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Centennial Square our partners the Nakoda-Cochrane Pickin’ Party will be playing music for all ages.
Down 2nd Street W you will find Artists & Artisans displaying and demonstrating their works, music and dancing. At the end of the street there will be a number of classic cars, a large tent of Artists and the ATCO stage presenting musicians, singers and dancers for the afternoon.
Saffron Collective Studios will again be selling bowls for the “Empty Bowl Project” – each bowl has been made by the studio, sold for $20.00 and filled by one of the participating restaurants in Historic Downtown Cochrane. The money raised will be donated to the Cochrane Activettes for their Christmas Hampers.

Time: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Sunday September 28th has been dedicated to the “Youth of Cochrane” and all music, art, dance will be provided by the youth of Cochrane and area.
The big event for Sunday September 28th is the Sidewalk Chalk Drawing Contest down 2nd Street W. We will have 10 groups of 2-6 between the ages of 13 & 18. Each will be provided with a 5’ X 5’ square and visitors will be able to vote in a number of categories.
