Metropolitan Winds and the Foothills Concert Band present their season finale June 9 at the Rosza Centre. Following the theme ‘Human Experience’, the music of this concert revolves around the concept of Things That Move Us.
Be prepared to be entertained with a fun-filled evening of music that ranges from percussion solos, fast-paced technical mastery, lilting folk music, to the emotionally dramatic. The talented Rob Maciak will be featured on percussion in this concert, performing James Curnow’s Concertino and Ride by Samuel Hazo. Other selections to be performed include Robert Russell Bennett’s Suite of Old American Dances, Vaughn Williams’ Sea Songs, among others.
Both ensembles are composed of talented local, amateur wind players from the Calgary area.
Tickets are $10 (adults), $5 (students/seniors), and children under 10 are free. Purchases may be made in advance from group members, or at the door.
Please join us at the Rosza Centre at the University of Calgary on Thursday June 9th.
