The Rocky Mountain Symphony will return to Cochrane on February 8, for the premier concert of the season; this time, at a new venue, Bow Valley Baptist Church, and featuring audience favourite: American Violinist Odin Rathnam.
The Program will include:
New work by Duarte Silva
Haydn: Symphony #104
Beethoven: Violin Concerto
The Violin Concerto is widely viewed as the most important of Beethoven’s works for solo instrument and orchestra, and regarded as pre-eminent among violin concertos as a whole. It is, moreover the yardstick of a soloists stature, both in technique and artistry. The Beethoven Violin Concerto is always an important event for Virtuoso and Concert Organization alike.
RMSO is delighted to present this historic concert in 2020, the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s Birth.
RMSO is also performing this same concert on February 7 at the Polaris Centre. VIP tickets are sold out.

Early Music Voices and their partner group Voicescapes – are holding two Messiah events this December!
December 21, 2019 at 7:30 pm
Christ Church Elbow Park Pre-concert talk at 7:00 pm
Our intimate and beautiful, period-instrument Messiah returns after last year’s sell-out. A full performance of Handel’s beloved work with Rosa Barocca on period instruments led by Claude Lapalme. They will be joined by soloists and an elite 16-voice choir made up of VoiceScapes and local professional singers.
The Calgary tradition lives on – its 18th year! Auditioned young soloists along with VoiceScapes and Friends will sing the arias. And you, the audience, can join the professional choir and orchestra (Rosa Barocca) to sing along with the choruses if you wish…or just sit back and enjoy! All conducted by Claude Lapalme.
NOTE: Scores are available to use on-site for a small fee.
