Cochrane Culture Days Were Fantastic!
Saturday, September 7
Cochrane Farmers Market (SLSFSC Parking Lot)
We set up at the Cochrane Farmers Market on Sept 7 and enjoyed the Murphy Rowan – Stoney Nakoda drummer and singer and the Drowsy Maggies. Midnight Taiko performed and invited the audience to drum with them – very cool! Ga-On Taekwando gave us an exciting demonstration of their skills.
10am Mini Thni Dancers
11am Drowsy Maggies
12pm Midnight Taiko
1pm Ga-On Taekwondo
Balloons and Butterflies balloon twisters were there creating fun balloon shapes for the kids and Imagine That YYC Face Painting will gave them a new persona!
Sunday, September 8
Centennial Plaza (Main Street)
So many people came out to see the amazing cars and trucks at the Cochrane Classic Car Club Show ‘N’ Shine, and enjoy the performances of folk, jazz, pipe and Dixieland bands.
11am Westwinds Summer Jazz
12pm Cochrane Pipe Band
1pm Six By Six
2pm Fig Fusion
3pm Melodic Mix
4pm Canmore Traditional Jazz Band
The kids assumed a fun character with Imagine That YYC Face Painting and Balloons and Butterflies balloon twisters provided fun balloon shapes.
Parking was convenient on the south side of the tracks, and while walking through to Main Street, everyone saw Wazin Îchinabi Ti raising their tipi at The Station Greenspace. Our respected and loved Stoney Nakoda elders, Pauline and JR Twoyoungmen, were on hand to chat with all.
Wazin Îchinabi Ti (521 Main St. W) hosted a sale of a variety of Indigenous crafts.
We love to celebrate our local arts and culture
at Cochrane Culture Days!
We are so happy to again team up with the Cochrane Farmers Market and the Cochrane Classic Car Club to combine great performances with their ongoing events.
We are SO grateful for the wonderful people and businesses who help to fund Cochrane’s healthy, interactive arts community.
