The Singing Soul – Calgary & Canmore Workshops

April 11, 2011  |  Public

Choral Waves members have been invited to an improvisational a cappella workshop called The Singing Soul directed by David Hatfield. The workshop will be held in Calgary, April 29-30 and in Canmore May 27-28. David has taught The Singing Soul for 14 years, across Canada and internationally.

The Singing Soul is for those who are ready to let go of “getting it right” and are ready to embrace letting it just happen. Unrehearsed singing evokes the genuine and soulful voice. You’ll strengthen your abilities as a vocal musician in creating melodies and harmonies, laying down vocal percussion grooves and bass lines, and gelling with others in creating freewheeling counterpoint that just begs a soloist – then becoming that too!

  1. I have attended David Hatfield’s workshops on more than one occasion, and I would recommend it highly. For those who are singers, it is a chance to sing “outside the lines” and discover the beauty and creativity of your own voice. For those who haven’t done much singing, it is a warm and welcoming place to stretch those vocal wings and take off. Believe me, you do NOT want to miss the opportunity to sing under David’s gifted leadership. It is a joy and a gift and I am so glad that David is coming back to Alberta.
